Glycol Makeup Package

Glycol makeup packages function by automatically supplying pressurized water, or water/glycol mixture to a closed-loop space heating, chilled water, snowmelt, radiant heating, or process control system. The engineered package is designed to ensure that critical minimum system pressure levels are maintained. The GMP package offers several benefits by preventing major floods in the event of a system rupture, eliminating the need for a back-flow prevention system, protecting the system from freezing by utilizing a predetermined solution, ensuring EPA compliance, and maintaining pressure within the system. The basic glycol make-up package consists of a solution reservoir and a pump pressurization control station. The premixed fluid is stored in the reservoir is manually maintained and isolated from the building's plumbing, ensuring that there is no potential for cross-contamination into a building's potable water supply. The pump pressurization control station stores a portion of the fluid under pressure, and meters it to the heating or process control system at the precise pressure required.

Wessels offers four types of glycol systems, including the Glymatic (single system package), the GMP (single system package), the GMPD (single/dual system package), and the GMPT (twin pump with alternator package).

Glymatic

The Wessels Glymatic system consists of a free standing solutions reservoir that contains the glycol/water or water solution at atmospheric pressure. A pressurization assembly is mounted on the solutions reservoir's high density polymer cover, keeping the pressurization unit off the floor. The Glymatic automatic make-up package utilizes a pressurization station designed to draw fluid from a 6 or 15-gallon reservoir and automatically feed pressurized fluid at regulated pressures between 1 to 25 psi. This solution will remain stored at pressure until it is needed to replenish the system that has lost its glycol/water or water solution.

GMP — Single System Packages

The Wessels single system GMP is designed to automatically service one closed-loop system. This GMP-series is available with 50 or 100 gallon reservoir capacities and 1/3 and ½-HP pump pressurization control station with magnetic starter. The 1/3-HP is used for systems requiring up to 50-psi metering pressure, and the ½-HP station is used for systems requiring up to 70 psi.

GMPD — Duplex GMP Packages

The Wessels single system GMP is designed to automatically service two separate closed-loop system. This GMPD-series is available with 50 or 100 gallon reservoir capacities and 1/3 and ½-HP pump pressurization control station with magnetic starter. The 1/3-HP is used for systems requiring up to 50-psi metering pressure, and the ½-HP station is used for systems requiring up to 70 psi.

GMPT — Twin GMP Packages

The Wessels single system GMP is designed to automatically service one closed-loop system. This GMP-series is available with 50 or 100 gallon reservoir capacities and 1/3 and ½-HP pump pressurization control station with magnetic starter. The 1/3-HP is used for systems requiring up to 50-psi metering pressure, and the ½-HP station is used for systems requiring up to 70 psi. A control panel with alternator and dual magnetic starter is used to automatically alternate between two (2) pumps.
