Custom Tanks

Wessels' storage tanks are available in diameters from 12" to 120" and lengths to 24 feet, capacities to 25,000 gallons or larger and up to 200 PSIG working pressure. They are available in ASME code or standard construction and are fully factory tested. Tanks can be furnished with any arrangement of handholes, manholes, steam and/or electric coils and most any variety of fittings, lifting lugs, etc., to meet individual requirements. The standard exterior finish is red oxide primer. Other finishes quoted on request. Tank saddles are available for horizontal installation and ring base or angle legs for vertical installations. All tanks except galvanized furnished with primed exterior.

Hot Water Heater Storage Tanks

Wessels' storage water heaters are available with heat exchangers, electric heating elements, or a combination of both, arranged for your special needs. Heat exchangers use steam, boiler water or other heating medium to heat water whenever a large volume of water must be held in storage for supply in peak loads. Tanks can be fabricated in wide range of sizes, lining, pressures and temperatures.

Storage Tanks - ASME and Standard Construction

Wessels Hot Water Storage Tanks used in conjunction with a boiler or other independent water-heating unit, provides an alternate system for heating and storing domestic hot water. A properly sized tank will provide storage capacity sufficient to meet peak and normal system demands. Tanks can be fabricated in a wide range of sizes, linings, pressures and temperatures. Hydropneumatic Tanks

Wessels Hydropneumatic tanks are designed to give the architect, engineer and distributor standard sized tanks that may be manufactured, stocked and sold in the minimum amount of time and at a minimum cost. Our ASME Hydropneumatic tanks are inspected under the supervision of the Hatford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company inspectors, who are certified by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, as well as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Gallon capacities are shown as nominal and actual. Wessels recommends the use of actual capacity. Nominal capacity is the capacity of a tank with flat ends and does not take in the loss in volume when using dished heads.

Hydropneumatic tanks are furnished painted with on external coat of shop paint, Hot Dipped Galvanized inside and out, glass lined or epoxy lined.

Wesglas Lining

Wessels' engineers have created special epitaxial glass crystal, up to 1,000 gallons, combining alkaline borosilicate and cobalt ferrite, resulting in a long-lasting glass coating, fused to the steel tank wall at 1600 degrees. This Wesglas® represents industry's leading means of protecting vessel walls against corrosion. Wessels storage water tanks are ASME Section IV certified and engineered and manufactured to fit all industry requirements. The vessels manufactured are in stock, for immediate shipment. These include standard epitaxial glass-lined storage tank models up 500 gallons, and epoxy-lined tanks. Wessels is the leading manufacture in tube bundle-style, heat exchanger type storage tanks for use in hydronic systems. Wessels also manufactures custom storage tanks in diameters from 12" to 120", and lengths to 40 feet, with capacities to 25,000 gallons.
