Hydropneumatic Tanks

There are several different functions that a hydropneumatic tank can perform. In a booster pump application, it can provide water to the system during periods of a no flow shutdown of the booster pump or it can provide water to replace leak loads. In a well water application, it can provide the desired volume of water required between the pump shut down pressure and the pump turn on pressure. In a sprinkler or irrigation pump application, the tank may provide a cushion to maintain necessary pressure so the jockey pump will not short cycle. In any case, the amount of water that the tank will be required to supply to the system during any given cycle is called the drawdown. Drawdown must first be determined to properly size the hydropneumatic tank.
Hydropneumatic Tank Styles
Bladder Tanks
FXA Hydropneumatic Tanks (ASME)
The FXA Series Hydropneumatic Tanks are manufactured to ASME specifications. The FXA's are industries broadest line of bladder style tanks. These vessels are designed using a heavy-duty replaceable butyl bladder, and are offered in sizes ranging from 10 to 4,000 gallons, with working pressures of 125 psi (standard), 200 and 250 psi.
Stainless Steel Model Available (SSFXA)
FXA with WessGuard Protection
FX Hydropneumatic Tanks (Non-ASME)
The FX Series Hydropneumatic Tanks are Non-ASME vessels designed using a heavy-duty replaceable butyl bladder, and are offered in sizes ranging from 2 to 528 gallons.
Diaphragm Tanks
FXT Hydropneumatic Tanks (ASME)
The FXT Series Hydropneumatic Tanks are manufactured to ASME specifications. These vessels are designed using a heavy-duty fixed butyl diaphragm, and are offered in sizes ranging from 8 to 210 gallons.
