Stainless steel tanks and air separators are used mostly for commercial and industrial systems that require the highest quality materials, construction and protection from corrosion and noise. Wessels' stainless steel is often referred to as severe service or the SS Series.

The SSNA Series Stainless Steel vessels are designed using fabricated 304 stainless steel (316L stainless steel available) and are offered in sizes ranging from 15 to 400 gallons.

Bladder Tanks

Severe Service Tanks are ASME 304 stainless steel replaceable bladder style vessels. They are designed for commercial and industrial systems that require internal and external protection more robust than traditional fabricated plain steel designs. They are designed to store water isolated within the bladder, utilizing the captured air cushion to control system pressures.

EPFXA Epoxy Lined Bladder Tanks

The EPFXA Series epoxy lined bladder tanks are manufactured to ASME specifications. are factory pre-charged to 30 PSI and field adjustable. Tanks can be installed in the horizontal position with the system connection located below the tank horizontal centerline.

Stainless Steel FXA Hydropneumatic Tanks

The SSFXA Series Stainless Steel vessels are designed using fabricated 304 stainless steel (316L stainless steel available) and are offered in sizes ranging from 10 to 792 gallons. Tanks are factory pre-charged to 30 PSI and field adjustable and can be installed in the horizontal position with the system connection located below the tank horizontal centerline.

Air Purgers

AP Severe Service Stainless Steel Air Purgers are designed for commercial and industrial systems that require internal and external protection more robust than traditional fabricated steel designs. The air purger is designed to effectively control and eliminate entrained air.

Stainless Steel AP Series

The AP Series Severe Service Stainless Steel air purgers are manufactured to ASME specifications. APSS are designed using fabricated 304 stainless steel (316L stainless steel available). Maximum design pressure up to 150 PSI and a maximum design temperature of 450®F.

Tangential / Centrifugal

SPA Severe Service Stainless Steel Air Separators are designed for systems that require more corrosive resistance than standard carbon steel. SPA separators eliminate air quickly and efficiently from open and closed loop heating/cooling, and potable water systems. Water enters and exits through unique "tangential" connections, which promote a low velocity swirling effect in the center of the unit. Natural centrifugal forces allow the heavier air-free water to move towards the outer edges while entrained air is captured within the "eye" of the vortex and released out the top of the separator. The water then exits near the bottom of the unit, bubble free, protecting the system against the noise, corrosion, and damage commonly caused by entrained air.

The SPA Series Severe Service Stainless Steel air separators are designed using fabricated 304 stainless steel (316L stainless steel available) and are offered in sizes ranging from 56 to 17000 GPM. Maximum design pressure up to 125 PSIG and a maximum design temperature of 450®F.
